To Cook (for) A Friend
by Hwei Ming on Sep.08, 2008, under Rest of the Junk
I was really hungry, and at the same time, feeling naughty, so yea, I came up with way to well, at least, share my food that I’m going to cook with a friend over the internet.
This friend of mine, was also hungry at the same time, but she ended up with Twisties.
So, this is for you, Mae… haha..

Okie, to start with… I shall name, the penne, “Mae”!!

Alrighty to start off, I prepared of bowl of “Mae”..
And because, the Mae I know smells good all the time and the “Mae” in the bowl doesn’t quite smells the same. I mixed “Mae” with Rose Marry to make it smells just as good.

I later pampered “Mae” with a hot bath in boiling water… T_T hehehe…

Ironic, I know, but, “Mae” came out, prefecto!!
I prepared to sauce for “Mae” just the way I think Mae would like it.
Less Herds, Less Garlic, Less Onion…
ADD ON the MEAT!!! In this case, I used Lap Cheong because I don’t have any Wagyu Beef.

It was almost done, just that, it lacks personality compared to the Mae I know.
and that is why, I sprinkle some oregano and black pepper to spice thing up to par with Mae.
And there you have it, a good way to treat “Mae” just the way Mae likes it.
p/s.. Mae is still 101% better k..
No food in this world can consume a man like Mae can.. Haha…
Makan Time…actually…finish before I actually post this up!! haha…
Chinese Indulgence!
by Hwei Ming on Sep.07, 2008, under Rest of the Junk
If you go to Prince Hotel, the one situated behind Pavillion KL, and from the lobby, you walk up a marvellous spiral stairways.. You’ll see this infront of you…

Welcome… To Tai Zi Heen!!

Normally, I’m not real big fan of Chinese food..because, come on… 20 years of Chinese Food??
Gosh….

But, yes..there is always a but…
This was no ordinary road side, long kang side, river side, whatever side side restaurant!
It is, Tai Ze Heen!!
2008 Malaysian Best Tatler Restaurant… and some say 2007 too!!
I was invited over by Big Boys Oven to try out Tai Ze Heen’s New Menu.
Lets start…
1) Mantau(Fried Bun) with Crab Meat Sause

Warning: as small as it seems, it CAN blow you off your chair!
2) Soup of the Day.
Herbal Chicken soup with Shitake, Fish, Tong Kwai, Red Dates, Kei Chi and dried scallop.

Very tasty soup… It was so good that Simon actually sip every single drop of liquid out of it…
3) Dim Sum… Yummy…

I think the one I ate, was Tuna…because, there is actually, Abalone, Redang, and scallap.

Next…
4 Season Prawn Dumpling…
Green-Spring
Black-Summer
Orange-Autunm
White-Winter

White so sexy? No…?

As for the main course for the day,
I had the Chef’s Signature Dish, Oven-Baked Black Cod Fillet with a Butter and Parmesan Cheese Curst!!

*tears….* It was so good!!
Next was Crispy Roasted Chicken Topped with Szechuan Sesame Sauce…

Very good indeed.. Just look at the picture…
Oh.. my fish picture… Nice Bo???

Come… Guess what is this…

Its Ying-Yang Twins Prawns, Crispy Prawns Tossed with Asian Dressing and Garlic Pepper Sauce.

Next..
Steamed Bean Curd Stuffed with Prawn Mousse and Minced Water Chestnuts.

Next,
Wok-Fried Diced Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper and Crispy Garlic
If people say, there is tenderness in the air, they have yet to try this dish out. If there is a word missing from “A (missing word) tender beef”, it has got to be “ultra” in this case!
Its so tender that, you do not need to have teeth to chew on it. It just melts in your mouth…

The battle of tenderness and ying yang…

After the surplus shower of good food, we had a surplus shower of moon cakes..

Mooncake madness I tell you!!

I had never been served so much moon cakes in my entire life!

So much so that it looks like flower from up above…

One of the must try moon cake is this..
Nominated Best Moon Cake by if I’m not mistaken The Star Newspaper.

I can’t believe I had that in my mouth… :-/
Ain’t it look so pretty?

That night, Tai Zi Heen had me dazzling for more after I’ve tasted their Chef’s Signature Dish, Chilled Mango Puree with Ice Cream, Sago and Pomelo.

Somebody, kill me not for my sin as I would rather have this sinfully delicious cup of dessert!
I’m so marrying someone who can cook me with all these!!
I don’t know much about restaurants and its award, but I can sincerely, not many people know about Tai Zi Heen too.

I would really rate this as far out as one of the best chinese restaurant I’ve been too.
It is also my first time, that I really believe when it write, Chef’s Signature Dish, IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY OF IT!! It’s definitely no con job in the making..
If you go there now for dinner from 1st August till the 30 September 2008, you can enjoy 50% off Dinner Nightly from 6.20pm-10.30pm from the a la carte menu excluding premium food items.

Now, anyone want to company me go there to dessert? >.<

Woop My Ass!!!
by Hwei Ming on Sep.04, 2008, under Daily Rants
Do you remember being naughty as child? I know I do, and also remember being “rotan” for every single act of bad deeds which was thought to be a good one at the time of commit.
Well,
- I lied to my parents before. (Got whack the life out of me when I was caught)
- I hide my homework and exercise books with a huge question mark in red. ( I also got whack the life out of me when my mum found my exercise under the staircase while she was cleaning)
- I answered back at my parents. (Got a real nice one on my face, and I swore I saw the gates of hell heaven in front of me for a few second after)
- I played too much computer. (The computer was left with no keyboard and mouse for a few weeks after… and was flying kicked when my mum caught me playing quietly at night with a whole new set of mouse and keyboard)
- I stood at the edge of a 17-storey building. (Got whack so hard, I can’t imagine if it was a 18-storey building)
- I failed my exams. (I swore I was better off dead than hearing the lectures I had till 2a.m in the morning)
Anyway, that is just a few of my mischief I had when I was young. If I were a cat, 9 lives is not enough, because, I swear, when it comes to beating, my mum can beat the living day light out of someone.
So, how ironic, just a few days ago, my mum bought a ruler for sewing.. The one meter ruler with the extra handle in the middle.

But, in those days, if you see this in my house, it was never for sewing, but to woop my ass all the way to pluto and back!

I got whack so hard with it, that the ruler gave up and broke to pieces. Which was not a good thing, as, Mr. Splinter was next in line to torment my life.

I really don’t see a point with the handle lo… Cause, it never help with the beating… >.<
I actually told my mum how much it hurts the last time she whack me with it, and I got this as an answer,”I never knew it was that pain..” -_-”
Haha, nevertheless, I still love my mum very much. No doubt, things like The Cane, The Ruler, The Palm of her Hands, The Belt, The Walking Stick, The Parang!! and The Many Many More My Mum Can Get Her Hands On… still haunt me today, I undoubtedly love her very much and my dad too. Only when they start nagging me to come back home early, that I don’t really fully 100% love them..hahahaha…
I love you Mum and Dad. I’ll be the son that every parent wishes, in your name and honour. And, with your grace and prayer, I shall never try to fail you again.
Anyway, speaking of my mum,
Mummy seems to be so happy after she has successfully make this cake which I have no idea what is it called.

So happy she was, she demanded I took picture of it… So I did and here it is… >.<
And speaking cake,
I’ve drop by Big Boys Oven Blog and I saw the most magnificent cake ever…
OMG… Its so pretty!!
It just look too good to eat!! I’m definately getting something like these as my wedding cake!!
So my dear, if you ever stumble across images like these, somewhere, you do know that our wedding is coming.. >.<
Or, you know what, because it’s so pretty, Marry Me!! Marry Me Now!!
Pictures are taken from BBO’s Blog. Do drop into their blog to see more pretty pictures of the cake!!!
