by Hwei Ming on Sep.07, 2008, under Rest of the Junk
If you go to Prince Hotel, the one situated behind Pavillion KL, and from the lobby, you walk up a marvellous spiral stairways.. You’ll see this infront of you…

Welcome… To Tai Zi Heen!!

Normally, I’m not real big fan of Chinese food..because, come on… 20 years of Chinese Food??
Gosh….

But, yes..there is always a but…
This was no ordinary road side, long kang side, river side, whatever side side restaurant!
It is, Tai Ze Heen!!
2008 Malaysian Best Tatler Restaurant… and some say 2007 too!!
I was invited over by Big Boys Oven to try out Tai Ze Heen’s New Menu.
Lets start…
1) Mantau(Fried Bun) with Crab Meat Sause

Warning: as small as it seems, it CAN blow you off your chair!
2) Soup of the Day.
Herbal Chicken soup with Shitake, Fish, Tong Kwai, Red Dates, Kei Chi and dried scallop.

Very tasty soup… It was so good that Simon actually sip every single drop of liquid out of it…
3) Dim Sum… Yummy…

I think the one I ate, was Tuna…because, there is actually, Abalone, Redang, and scallap.

Next…
4 Season Prawn Dumpling…
Green-Spring
Black-Summer
Orange-Autunm
White-Winter

White so sexy? No…?

As for the main course for the day,
I had the Chef’s Signature Dish, Oven-Baked Black Cod Fillet with a Butter and Parmesan Cheese Curst!!

*tears….* It was so good!!
Next was Crispy Roasted Chicken Topped with Szechuan Sesame Sauce…

Very good indeed.. Just look at the picture…
Oh.. my fish picture… Nice Bo???

Come… Guess what is this…

Its Ying-Yang Twins Prawns, Crispy Prawns Tossed with Asian Dressing and Garlic Pepper Sauce.

Next..
Steamed Bean Curd Stuffed with Prawn Mousse and Minced Water Chestnuts.

Next,
Wok-Fried Diced Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper and Crispy Garlic
If people say, there is tenderness in the air, they have yet to try this dish out. If there is a word missing from “A (missing word) tender beef”, it has got to be “ultra” in this case!
Its so tender that, you do not need to have teeth to chew on it. It just melts in your mouth…

The battle of tenderness and ying yang…

After the surplus shower of good food, we had a surplus shower of moon cakes..

Mooncake madness I tell you!!

I had never been served so much moon cakes in my entire life!

So much so that it looks like flower from up above…

One of the must try moon cake is this..
Nominated Best Moon Cake by if I’m not mistaken The Star Newspaper.

I can’t believe I had that in my mouth… :-/
Ain’t it look so pretty?

That night, Tai Zi Heen had me dazzling for more after I’ve tasted their Chef’s Signature Dish, Chilled Mango Puree with Ice Cream, Sago and Pomelo.

Somebody, kill me not for my sin as I would rather have this sinfully delicious cup of dessert!
I’m so marrying someone who can cook me with all these!!
I don’t know much about restaurants and its award, but I can sincerely, not many people know about Tai Zi Heen too.

I would really rate this as far out as one of the best chinese restaurant I’ve been too.
It is also my first time, that I really believe when it write, Chef’s Signature Dish, IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY OF IT!! It’s definitely no con job in the making..
